It includes consumption by Norway, a member of the European Economic Area (EEA).
It excludes certain island countries (Ireland, Malta, Cyprus).
For European countries other than France, data are taken from ENTSO-E's Transparency platform. For France, data are provided by RTE.

In Europe, consumption and generation remained stable in 2025. Solar and wind power generation exceeded fossil fuel generation for the second consecutive year.

Greenhouse gas emissions are calculated from generation values per energy sources and emission coefficients provided by ADEME.
